Tony Stark may have used the Mark VII suit in “Iron Man 3” last summer, but Volkswagen plans to introduce a Mark VII of their own in the 2015 Golf R.

The purpose of the Golf R—last seen in 2012—is to provide a higher performing upgrade from the GTI. The last iteration of the Golf R was called the Mark VI and the 2015 will be the Mark VII (see? Iron Man reference comes full circle).

Power indeed seems to be plentiful with Volkswagen promising 0 to 60 mph load times of 4.9 seconds in the automatic transmission (manual shifting increases that to 5.3 seconds).

Not that efficiency is totally out of the wheelhouse. Estimates put fuel economy at 31 mpg on the highway, even with a 5.3 inch touchscreen. That screen—which makes icons appear when it senses your hand drawing near—is pretty cool. Just don’t reach over for your beverage too often.

More details on the 2015 Golf R can be found at Car and Driver.
